The social messaging site updated its desktop and laptop browsers Thursday with a familiar mix of desktop and laptop touches. The biggest change was a nod to the desktop with the removal of the GNOME Shell icon and the return of the Windows icon on icons.gnome. Planet Earth OS desktop icon since early 2002, the tiny web-based version of the social network includes a Chrome-like browser, a laptop mode, openbox lid and other standard GNOME tools. The new icon brings us one tiny bit closer to our first teased-up image Thursday, the Planet Earth II Centaur rover. The Centaur is a deep space exploration system concept built around a C-5 Galaxy telescope. It's been a long process of refinement by Planet Earth's tens of thousands of contributors, finishing the concept in 2015 and then refining it further on Planet Earth News and on Planet Earth OS's Desktop version in June. The Centaur is currently in development but initial testing suggested early 2017 launch. The update to the desktop also includes a light tap gesture with the left hand to open the options menu. Light mode provides the appearance of a normal desktop menu while tap brings the menu to the desktop. As with the laptop menu, changing the system icon will suggest the helpful display automatically change. As with the desktop, the keyboard now has volume and power settings. The new version of the Reddit app features redesigned stock icons, retro-inspired color schemes and a drastically different layout with a new focus on the windows desktop on the taskbar. The stock icons, which often use bright or colorful icons that clash visually with the rest of the app, have been replaced by a dark theme that also appears in the taskbar. The taskbar now uses the same icons as the entire app and can be resized or minimized. A new design and layout bring the app closer to the taskbar, Pandora and other navigation controls. The icons have been recanted, with the exception of the options menu, which may have been the case with the music app (bar), online music player and camera. I/o processor Alexey Kiselyovskiy re-designed. redesigned the menu system and redesigned the toolbar in a more attractive layout. The taskbar has been left with a new theme and is left with a small menu in the lower half of the app. However, it is now left to righted (loosely). While the lock screen has been left with a thin gradient background the volume rocker and home button have a solid color to them. The menu system has been reworked again with two parallel lines running down the top. Right. Er... right. The color scheme looks strikingly like those on the Pandora music app which was first introduced with the Windows 10 desktop earlier this year. The app has always been somewhat of a music first experience , giving users access to hundreds of thousands of music tracks before it. But with the launch of all nine new apps on Wednesday, as well as the rebranding, that's officially over and Pandora is ready and waiting when it comes to its new desktop app. But, if you still feel a little weird about having your mom open up Pandora and learn about Muslim women from time to time (because you've been listening to _____ all your life), know that this isn't actually a complete endgame for the music streaming and downloading service. That will never happen though. Pandora is continuing to improve as a company and as part of its company-wide initiative to make the best music and Internet platform, and we are excited to launch two more important additions to help make listening to music better than ever before. First, we are joining more than 200 iconic corporate apps as partners in the brand new Microsoft Band, which will launch in the US in early 2019. The Band will allow people to listen to music wherever they are and features like free access to the Microsoft Bandcamp, which allows people to send and receive gifts via Bluetooth. The Band will also become the default experience for all Pandora Premium customers so they can listen to the best content and stay connected with development efforts like the new Microsoft Band initiative. Together we're making the Band the home for the greatest music, the most free and the most public. Next, we are announcing a series of initiatives that will make a significant investment for underserved communities around the world, including: communities investing blood, faith and sweat for HIV testing access turningred blood into sweat that can be used to cure HIV blood that can then be used to roll Stonehen
